3 WORDS MIXED MEDIA

Direct Transfer with Gel or Acrylic Paint

Any gel medium or acrylic paint will work to lift an image, depending on the

texture, clarity, and color you want to achieve in your artwork.

Gel "skin" with Image Transfer

Gel transfers are translucent images. Its name is derived from transferring an image

from paper to the acrylic gel surface. Gel transfers are experimental so once you get the

hang of the process you can go off in a number of directions. Some artist like to use the

“skins” it as a collage element in their paintings because of the texture.

Iron on Transfer

Iron-on transfers are very easy to make and allow you to put almost anything on a blank

t-shirt. All you need to have is some common household items and a computer and a

printer to make original designs.

Packing Tape Transfer

Packing tape transfers are easy and inexpensive! Take a picture printed

on paper (For E.g. magazine, calendar, old book, etc.) and transfer it to

another surface. The size of the tape will limit the size of the image you

can use.

Gel on Glass transfer

The beauty of the gel on glass technique lies in the nature of the acrylic. You can adjust

and modify the gel, for example, you can use retarder to increase the smoothness, mix-in

acrylic pigment, or even mix in other materials. You can mix in anything into the acrylic

gel from gold flakes to sand. Liquitex Gloss Heavy Gel Medium is recommended but any

clear acrylic medium will work.
